My memories of Nina by Lily-May

I fondly remember my Nina and all of the great times we spent together. When I was a lot younger, I used to grab her walking sticks (both different sizes!) and walk around the house with them which she found very funny. When I was really little Mum said I used to call her ‘Nina oh dear’ as this was something she said an awful lot, especially to me as I used to fall over a lot when I was a toddler before my operation.

I can remember the pictures and paintings in her house, and I used to like to go round as she would always give me biscuits and let me play on the DS.  I took photos and drew pictures with it and she would always tell me they were amazing. Another thing is that Nina used to always be amazed and happy that I played football.  She used to tell everyone who would listen that I played football and was better than the boys, she used to say, “She’ll play for England one day!”

Nina was always smiling and laughing at the things Finley, Mia and I would do, her face used to light up when we went for a visit.  I used to enjoy going out with her to places as she always said we should have tea and cake and would sometimes buy me a little toy even when my mum had said no. She used to laugh with me that we had not done as we had been told which used to make me laugh too.  I also spent a lot of time wandering around the garden thinking I was doing Nina a huge favour and walking the dog.

Nina brought a lot of happiness to all of us and I will keep her in my heart forever.  I will really miss her, especially her voice, she always spoke so softly and she always made me feel happy and relaxed. I will cherish all of memories that we shared for eternity.
